The Butterfly House
The Production
Clonter Opera’s The Butterfly House was a 50th-anniversary commissioned new play about Giacomo Puccini, combining English dialogue with arias and duets sung in Italian from Tosca, Madame Butterfly, La Bohème, La Rondine, Gianni Schicchi and Turandot. Performed at Clonter Opera Theatre in July 2024 with piano and percussion, it offered a music-theatre portrait of Puccini’s life and loves.
